Simply georgeous!

Day 85 - 88 (Mon,  Feb  6 – Thurs , Feb 9 , 2012):
Moved to Big Major Spot. Simply gorgeous.  What a beach the pigs have for a home. And, it is a short dingy ride over to Staniel Cay. We anchored and took the remainder of the day for exploring. We did the Grotto. It was as special as our first time here with Al and Ellen. Went to Staniel and looked around the marina. We decided to come back for dinner at the marina restaurant. Patrick gave them our choices for the meal. He ordered lamb and I went for the lobster. We headed back to Gaia and got cleaned up. This was the first time since we have been in the Exumas (for that matter since we started the trip) that I got to dress up a bit. Now, that does not mean makeup just nicer shorts and my sequin tank top. Patrick threw on a tropical shirt and looked “fresh as a daisy” once again. Not fair that he can clean up that fast. We headed over to the restaurant in the Craken. Went to the dingy dock and secured her. Then, up the small beach to the restaurant. We had a cocktail on the outside deck. Met some really fun folks that were staying in the small beach rooms at the resort. They had just come from Orlando and highly recommended the “Harry Potter rides."Dinner was spectacular. My lobster was tender, full of flavor and so sweet. Desert was second best, an orange and coconut flavored cheese cake. Wow… then the full moon. Our dingy trip back to Gaia was in almost as much light as daylight. You could see straight through the water to the bottom. Actually, better than in the daylight, as there was no glare. This was truly a special evening.
Morning saw Patrick and Dobbie up early as usual. They were fiddling around on deck and drinking their coffee with Frangelico and Kitty Rum. Then, as soon as I got up, we were off to feed the piggies again and to town for groceries. We went to Isles General. I simply love the little grocery. Wooden floors, jammed with cruisers and island residents picking up peppers, carrots, bread, tomatoes and lemons. We loaded up on fresh stuff and left our propane bottle to be filled. Then, an afternoon of taking it easy. I edited photos for the blog and simply relaxed. Headache started out of nowhere. First one I have had since the trip started. I decided to stay back on Gaia instead of going to Bert and Maria’s for dinner. Bummer. Patrick headed over. He met Gerard from “Salt Whistle.” Gerard is a musician. Wow can he play and sing. I got a vhf rendition of “Lala.” It was spectacular.
The next morning saw Gaia, Salt Whistle and Not So Interim all heading out to Big Farmers (just inside Big Galliot Cut) to stage for our hop outside to Georgetown. When we arrived, Maria, Gerard, Patrick and I took the dinghy over to a couple of nice spots for snorkeling. For me photos were on the top of my list. Maria was looking for Conch and Gerard was trying to find a lobster for dinner. No conch or lobster for dinner but breath taking things to see. Great photos. And my best Puff Pics yet!
